Our two cottages, Wiggles and Piglet, are beautifully converted barns with vaulted ceilings, exposed timbers, fully equipped kitchens, bath with shower and bi fold doors opening onto private gardens. Each has an outdoor copper bath beneath a pagoda canopy and a fire pit.
Our two cabins, Little Long Cabin and Sleepy Hollow, sit tucked deeper into the farm amongst the trees. They share the same outdoor copper bath (with jacuzzi jets), wood burner and underfloor heating, but add a movie projector, record player and binoculars for watching the wildlife. The cabins feel a little wilder, a little more secluded. Both are equally special.
Absolutely. The outdoor copper baths are available year round and they’re just as magical in winter as they are in summer. There’s nothing quite like sinking into a hot copper bath on a crisp evening, wrapped in the quiet of the countryside with a clear sky above. In the cabins, the baths also have jacuzzi air jets for an extra touch of luxury.
Absolutely, and we warmly encourage it. Pepples Farm is a landscape in quiet transformation. We’re actively rewilding the land, reconnecting ancient woodlands, sowing wildflower meadows and restoring natural ponds to create a private nature reserve. Pull on your boots and wander the footpaths. You might spot red kites overhead, deer at the woodland edge or barn owls hunting the meadows at dusk.
Plenty. Saffron Walden is just five miles away with its independent shops, cafes and weekly market. Audley End House, one of England’s grandest country estates, is minutes down the road. Cambridge is fifteen minutes by car for punting, museums and restaurants. There are beautiful walking and cycling routes right from the farm gate, including the Harcamlow Way long distance path. And if you fancy a day in London, Audley End station gets you to Liverpool Street in under an hour. We’re putting together a full local area guide on the site very soon.
